Surgical cosmetic procedures by Dr. Ivey
Book ConsultationThe nose is often said to be the centerpiece of the face. It provides balance to the other facial features. In some cases it can be distracting and take away from the overall beauty of the face.
Dr. Ivey performs the most modern and advanced rhinoplasty techniques. This includes dorsal preservation rhinoplasty as well as structure rhinoplasty. The goal of surgery is not only to have the nose look good but also to breathe well. We know that nasal breathing has major health benefits including filtration of particulate matter from the air and humidification.
Creating a beautiful nose that is in harmony with the patient’s face and aesthetic is of utmost importance.
Dr. Ivey specializes in revision rhinoplasty and often treats patients who have been left with residual humps, drooping tips, and scarred tissues. The septal cartilage is the most precious building material that can be used to reconstruct the nose in both primary and revision rhinoplasty. In cases where septum is not available rib cartilage or cadaver rib cartilage is used.
Dr. Ivey’s most common approach is with open rhinoplasty however it is possible in some cases to perform the rhinoplasty in an endonasal or “closed” fashion. In this approach no incisions are made on the skin and all work is performed from inside the nose. This is also sometimes referred to as “scarless” rhinoplasty. With more severe nasal deformity an open approach is indicated. This will all be discussed at your consultation and 3D Vectra imaging will be performed.
