DR. IVEY
Dr. Ivey has a passion for plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery and a strong desire to give patients the most expert care possible. He is one of the few plastic surgeons who has additional fellowship training beyond plastic surgery in aesthetic surgery of the face, pediatric, and craniofacial surgery.
He was educated in Philadelphia and after medical school at Drexel University he completed a full 5-year general surgery residency at Temple University Hospital. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery.
He was given the opportunity to travel as a visiting scholar to Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan to work with the microsurgery division that is run by Professor Fu-Chan Wei.
He then went on to complete a 3-year plastic and reconstructive surgery residency in Charleston, South Carolina under Dr. Milton B. Armstrong. He was able to experience the full breadth of plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery including a rich experience in breast reconstruction and hand surgery.
During this time Dr. Ivey developed a strong interest in plastic surgery of the face, rhinoplasty, orthognathic surgery, and the care of children with craniofacial anomalies and clefts. He went on for final training in Miami, Florida. There he participated in an ACGME accredited craniofacial and facial aesthetic surgery fellowship with Dr. Anthony Wolfe and Dr. Chad Perlyn.
Dr. Ivey is a published author in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and HAND journals. He has presented at both national and international educational meetings. He is constantly working to improve his craft by attending meetings with experts in the field.
